The Resurrection of
Lit Brothers Enchanted Colonial Village

...( Buildings )

Originally the buildings were created using lightwieght sheets of masonite, which took quite a beating over the years ...entire segments were missing or full of holes for various reasons (screws that got pulled out, dents etc.) ..after 30-years it`s also gotten quite brittle.
Since patching and repairing the masonite would still leave it open to more damage it was decided to resurface the buildings completely with 1/4" luan sheets.
The original frames were kept so everything would still fit together the same way (..windows, doors, ceiling-panels would fit in place etc.)

Here`s the Watchmaker building with the new brick-surface..
There were a few tricks to smoothing over seams etc. because all the frames were originally built expecting to be surfaced with sheets that were 5ft wide.
(Which meant splicing together mutiple 4-ft-wide sheets)

The sculpted roof-panels on the dormers and awnings were slush-cast in latex the same way the heads and hands were created ..which means many of them meLted the same way too.
90% were ok ..but the occasional segment would have to be resculpted (mostly in wood-filler on top of a plaster / axcrylic mix) to blend-in seamlessly with the others.
